Sunday Prep 11/19

Writer's picture: Luke HumphriesLuke Humphries

THIS SUNDAY: Matthew 11:1-30

As you read through Matthew 11, think about the following:

  • Israel has been expecting "the one who is to come".

  • What are the things/events that would suggest that "the one" had come?

  • Examine Malachai to see why "the one" was coming.

  • Notice the necessity Jesus places on responding correctly to Him, who is "the one who is to come", and the consequences of not.

  • In light of all the above, pay close attention to what is being addressed in verses 25-30

Other Passages to Read:

  • Malachi

  • Isaiah 29, 35

  • Matthew 3:1-12

  • 1 Corinthians 1:18-31

Catchesim Question and Answer:

Question 41: What is the sum of the Ten Commandments?

A. The sum of the ten commandments is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind; and our neighbor as ourselves (Mat 22:37-40).
