Sunday Preparation 3/28/21

Writer's picture: Luke HumphriesLuke Humphries

THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT: Matthew 4:12-17

As you seek the Lord this week in private worship, prepare your hearts and minds for Sunday by prayerfully reading this Sunday's text.

Consider (Meditate) on the following:

  1. The prophecy quoted by Matthew is from Isaiah 9. Read Isaiah 9 and consider the "great light". (Additional reading: John 1:1-18)

  2. This is the beginning of Jesus' earthly ministry. How does it begin? (Hint: Matthew 4:17)

  3. Take time to consider the importance the Bible places on preaching. If you have a Concordance in the back of your Bible, look up the verses that have the word preach, preached, preaching. You could also lookup teach, teacher, teaching, etc.

  4. This week is Palm Sunday. Take some time to read through Luke 19:28-40.

"I feel it is far better to begin with God—to see his face first, to get my soul near him before it is near another." - Robert Murray M'Cheyne

BE IN PRAYER

  1. The Lord prepares our hearts for our worship this coming week.

  2. Ozarks Bible Church will be a church known for setting for Christ in word and deed.

  3. As we approach Easter Sunday, be in prayer that the Lord will make opportunities for us to invite others to worship with us, and that he will open the eyes of the blind through the word of the cross.
