THIS SUNDAY 8/22/2021: Matthew 5:43-48
43 You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven...
Additional Passages to Read:
Leviticus 19:17-18, 33-34
Luke 10:25-37
Luke 6:32-36
1 Peter 1:13-25
Consider (Meditate) on the following:
Think about the words enemies and persecutors. It may be hard for us to really understand the weight of those words. So, imagine you are a Christian in Afghanistan this week and then consider the weight of those words, enemies and persecutors.
What does it look like to love your enemy?
How should the gospel affect our response (obedience) to this command?
