Getting Ready for Sunday 2/26

Writer's picture: Luke HumphriesLuke Humphries

THIS SUNDAY- Hebrews 12:25-29

We were introduced to the final warning of Hebrews, "See that you do not refuse him who is speaking." (Hb 12:25a). This coming Lord's day we will look at the remaining verse that follows.

CONSIDER/MEDITATE
  • Notice what will happen to the "things that have been made" by the voice of him who is speaking... Is Mount Sinai or Mount Zion included in the above?

  • What hope does this give us when we are facing difficulties, trials, and suffering in this world?

  • Notice in verse 28 the right response to receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken and that will remain forever.

  • What/Who determines what is acceptable worship? Perhaps even ask yourself what worship is.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. - Hebrews 12:28-29

ADDITIONAL PASSAGES TO READ
  • Psalm 125

  • Leviticus 10

February Catchesim Question and Answer:

Question 33: What is adoption?

A. Adoption is an act of God’s free grace (1Jo 3:1), whereby we are received into the number, and have a right to all the privileges of the sons of God (Jhn 1:12; Rom 8:17).
