THIS SUNDAY- Hebrews 11:1-7
Hebrews 11 is known as the chapter about "faith". Sometimes it is referred to as the "hall of faith". We will learn much about faith. However, we must not forget the context. The writer/preacher turns to faith with purpose. He wants us to know something about faith in the context of the following:
The work of Christ to bring us into the presence of God
The danger of shrinking back into sin
We must endure by living by faith.
but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38

(REMINDER) THEMES OF HEBREWS
Christ is better. We will see that Christ is better than angels, Moses, and Israel. He is the better high priest, sacrifice, mediator, and more. This theme will be a major part of Sunday morning sermons, focusing on the superiority of Jesus Christ.
Continuity of the Old and New Testaments. The New Testament is not a redo of the Old but a continuation of the Old. You will see many references to Old Testament passages throughout the book of Hebrews. Often, these references will help you better understand Jesus, the Gospel, and the New Covenant.
Warning passages What is the warning? Don't miss Jesus! Pay attention to His message! Do not neglect Him! Do not be deceived by sin! Hold fast! Strive to enter His rest! Do not grow weary, and many more. The warnings are great because Christ is superior, the Son of God, the only way into the House of God.

BE IN PRAYER
As we approach the Advent season, let's prayerfully prepare our hearts to consider the first and second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
With the end of the year around the corner, ask the Lord to search your heart and this past year. Ask him to show you and grievous ways that are hiding in the dark corners of your heart.
As we are studying reformation and revival on Sunday evenings, let us be prayerful about these things. Let us ask the Lord to bring reformation and revival by the Spirit of God to Ozarks Bible Church.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
