Getting Ready for Sunday 10/29

THIS SUNDAY

We will continue our series, The Glory of God In the Church.

Presently, God has revealed his glory to the church through Jesus Christ for the purpose of manifesting and spreading the knowledge of the glory of God through the church's pursuit of His glory.

First, we have determined that God has revealed his glory to the church through Jesus Christ. The church is a group of gathered people beholding God's glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

Second, we have found that God had a purpose for revealing his glory to the church. His purpose was and is for his own worship among the church, and through the church's worship, the knowledge of the glory of God is to spread across the world as the water covers the seas. Therefore, he will always have a people who live to worship him.

This week we will focus on the church's pursuit of that glory through worship as the household of God.

Paul tells Timothy that those who come together in Christ are the household of God, the church of the living God. He says that the church is a pillar and buttress of the truth.

So the question we ask this week is, how are we to pursue God's glory through worship, specifically as the gathered church, the temple of God?
