We will continue our series The Glory of God In the Church, focusing this week on the purpose of God's present glory in the church.
In last Sunday's sermon, we set the following summary statement before us:
Presently, God has revealed his glory to the church through Jesus Christ for the purpose of manifesting and spreading the knowledge of the glory of God through the church's pursuit of His glory.
So we look this week towards the purpose behind God manifesting his glory to the church.

THROUGH THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
I would assume most of us have heard of the Protestant Reformation. Still, it's likely that we aren't familiar with its great impact and influence on our understanding and practice of Christianity, for example, believers' baptism and English translations of the Bible.
This month marks the 506th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, and there are many areas of the Reformation we could acknowledge and celebrate. As a way of joining the Protestant celebration throughout the world, for October, our focus will be on The Glory of God In the Church of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 3:21 sums it up well.
To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen -Ephesians 3:21
Goals for October (and passages to study):
Understanding the glory of God is the highest priority of all creation. (Ephesians 3:21, Romans 11:36, 1 Corinthians 10:31 )
Understanding that the church of Jesus Christ exists to house and exalt the glory of God to the world. ( 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Ephesians 3:21)
Understanding how church polity (government) and discipleship, specifically as practiced at Ozarks Bible Church, plays a major role in OBC's pursuit of exalting the glory of God in Fulton County. (1 Timothy 3:15, Jude 3-4,
Connecting the history of the Protestant Reformation to all the above. Below is a documentary that will introduce you to the Protestant Reformation, the church before the Reformation, and Martin Luther, the spark that lit the fire.
